SDU-R: Redundant Frequency Sine or TTL Distribution Unit

The SDU-R is a distribution unit, designed to provide sine wave signals with low additive phase noise, TTL output signals via BNC female connectors or fiber optical signals via F-ST connectors on the system's rear panel.

In addition, a redundant power supply can be used for the respective application via various power supply modules. The signal distributor is used in areas where high reliability of the output signals is required.

Some SDU-R model variants:

  • SDU-R/SIN/NET/AD10-AD10:
Rackmount distribution unit for 16 x 1-25 MHz sine outputs with redundant AC/DC power supplies
  • SDU-R/TTL/NET/DC20-DC20:
Rackmount distribution unit for 16 x TTL outputs, redundant low DC power supplies
  • SDU-R/FO/NET/AD10-AD10:
Rackmount distribution unit for 16 x fiber optical outputs (850nm, multimode) with redundant AC/DC power supplies

Product Description

How it works:
The redundant SDU-R signal distribution unit multiplies and distributes the input signals that are available at one or two inputs. When the device is used in redundant mode, the internal switching logic monitors both signals and automatically selects an input for distribution.

Different switching modes (Auto/Manual) are selectable by switches on the front panel. In the automatic mode the two signal inputs are monitored and switched over by an internal switching logic. Switching is done in case of signal loss at the input socket or by indicating an error of the master system at the error input (connector: X1). In manual mode, the selected input is switched through directly to the outputs.

Meinberg Device Manager
The system can be configured remotely via network connection using the Meinberg Device Manager monitor program.

The following parameters can be read out:

  • Status of both inputs
  • Status of all 16x outputs
  • Status of both power supply modules
  • System Temperature
  • Selection of the input signal
