Improved Signal Distribution with the Redundant SDU-R

Meinberg's new Signal Distribution Unit (SDU) has been designed to provide 16 buffered 1 - 25 MHz sine wave signals with low additive phase noise.

Bad Pyrmont, December 6, 2017 - Meinberg, manufacturer of the world's most flexible and efficient time and frequency solutions, introduces its new member of the SDU-family, the SDU-R/SIN/NET/RPS, a highly redundant distribution unit that provides both redundant input signals and power supplies.

Improved Signal Distribution with the Redundant SDU-R

The SDU-R is built in a compact 1U housing that provides 16 BNC outputs and distributes the input signals, which are provided to both inputs. If the unit is used in redundant mode, the internal logic of the RSC monitors both signals and chooses one input for distribution automatically. The input signal can also be selected manually with the switches on the front panel.

The alarm relay contact and the status LEDs in the front panel indicate to the operator whether an input signal or an internal error has been detected that could affect the output signal.

A light version is available for users only interested in sine wave signals with low additive phase noise and where redundancy is not relevant. The SDU/SIN is a single input distribution unit without redundancy and without remote functionality.
