Product Announcement: New Platform for Individual NTP Time Server Systems - LANTIME M900


Meinberg today announced the availability of the third model of their M-Series NTP time server product family. The LANTIME M900 is a high-performance and ultra flexible NTP server in a 3U/19" rackmount housing. The M900 is based on the same platform which caused the M300 and M600 models to become one of the most successful professional NTP time server appliances in the market. But due to its bigger chassis the M900 can be equipped with up to 7 network interfaces, redundant power supplies and redundant reference time sources (such as GPS, DCF77 and IRIG).

Besides the standard GPS time receiver the M900 allows DCF77 (PZF), IRIG and other reference input signals like 1PPS to be the source of time for the Stratum 1NTP service. Another NTP server can be used as a synchronization source for the internal oscillator due to Meinberg's MRS technology.

The vast amount of space inside the 3U housing allows for large numbers of additional timing outputs, like for example a 16x PPS and 16x 10MHz configuration or 8x serial timestring outputs. The new front panel comes - just like the 1U models - with 8 buttons and four status LEDs (for reference time source, network time service, network and alarm) and offers a 4x16 character LC display.

The M900 can hold all Meinberg Oscillator options, ranging from TCXO up to Rubidium models.

  • 1PPS (BNC or optical outputs)
  • 10 MHz (BNC)
  • IRIG modulated (AM) and unmodulated (DCLS), either via BNC connector or fiber optical output
  • Serial Time Strings (RS232 or RS422 via DSUB9, DSUB25 or F/O)
  • Programmable Pulses
  • Frequency Synthesizer
and a broad range of other modules and interfaces.
