New LANTIME Firmware Version 7.06

All Meinberg LANTIME time servers shipped as of July 25, 2022 (M-Series, SyncFire, IMS) will include the new LANTIME Firmware v7.06 pre-installed. This firmware revision provides many new features and improvements for the LANTIME range of systems and their management tools. These include a variety of security-related improvements.

In addition, we now also provide a v7 light version for older systems with less than 256 MB RAM to ensure that these systems can continue to benefit from security updates in the future.

Added and Improved Features:

• Network Time Security
  This new version of LTOS now supports NTS for even greater NTP traffic security.
  
• Brute Force Detection
  LTOS can now detect if attempts have been made to compromise an account using a brute-force method and will disable the account accordingly.
  
• LDAP Groups Lookup
  Version 7.06.004 now makes it even easier to integrate your LANTIME into your network's directory service with direct support for LDAP groups.

This free update is compatible with all Meinberg LANTIME M-Series products, SyncFire servers and IMS systems. A special "light" version of this update is available to ensure that older LANTIME servers with 128 MB RAM can receive the latest updates.

Please Note:
The LTOS V7 Standard Firmware Update requires a system with a LANTIME CPU with at least 256 MB RAM. LANTIME systems from 2013 onwards and all IMS LANTIME CPU modules have enough RAM for this purpose. The LTOS V7 light Firmware Update requires a system with a LANTIME CPU with at least 128 MB RAM. For information on your system's CPU and RAM, please consult the Web Interface, where the information is provided under System menu: System Information -> Show Device Version. The relevant information is provided there under "System Details", "RAM".

Light Version LTOS V7
For LANTIME systems with only 128 MB RAM we have developed a "light" version of the new firmware release to ensure that you can always benefit from the latest security updates for these systems for the foreseeable future. This light version does not have all the features of the "standard" LTOS V7 version and lacks the following functions:

• SyncMon
• NTS
• Bird
