New IMS-PSX210 Module – 10 Gigabit PTP Solution for Data Centers, Telecom Networks and Broadcasting Applications


Meinberg is pleased to announce the new IMS-PSX210, the latest IMS module for IEEE1588 PTP support, now with two discrete physical interfaces and direct support for 10 Gigabit networks, allowing a single module to be connected directly to two different 10 Gigabit subnets without the need to introduce a dedicated switch between the clock and network. This makes your network management more efficient and potentially increases clock accuracy due to the reduced hop count for PTP traffic.

10G Dual Network Interfaces

The new IMS-PSX210 provides two discrete physical network interfaces, allowing the module to deliver accurate time—or receive accurate time from—two entirely self-contained subnets. The module itself runs on a dedicated operating system designed specially by Meinberg for our PTP-enabled platforms. The use of this operating system ensures that the PTP module is entirely self-contained, and only communicates with the host IMS LANTIME system for the purpose of acquiring or providing reference signals and for configuration purposes.

Like the IMS HPS100 module before it, the new IMS-PSX210 provides full comprehensive support for the IEEE1588 protocol. The IMS-PSX210 also provides out-of-the-box support for essentially all published IEEE1588-2008 profiles, including the SMPTE ST 2059-2 profiles used by broadcasters and content producers, and the ITU-T G.8265.1, G.8275.1, and G.8275.2 telecom profiles.
