New Chassis Models for Meinberg's IMS Product Family

Following the great success of the two IMS Models LANTIME M1000 and M3000 Meinberg now launches three new chassis models to further increase the number of possible use-cases for the IMS series. In addition to the short versions of both M1000 and M3000, the all-new 4U rackmount LANTIME M4000 allows to deploy one of the worlds most flexible and reliable synchronization platforms in even more environments.

The LANTIME M4000 is a 19" rackmount chassis with the same feature set as the M3000. Unlike the M3000, the 4RU form factor allows to access the display, all connectors and the menu buttons from one side. This allows to mount the M4000 in racks that are only accessible from one side, on walls or in back-to-back setups.

The short versions of the two IMS chassis models M1000 and M3000 are called LANTIME M1000S and LANTIME M3000S. In comparison to their corresponding standard models they come without a display and menu buttons, allowing to install them in one-sided racks just like the M4000. The M3000S can be mounted in a rack with a minimum inner depth of 300mm whereas the M1000S requires a 600mm depth rack. All three new models support being installed in 21" racks (ETSI), either by using an optional adapter or a special rackmount kit.

The LANTIME S models are a cost effective alternative for applications where both a display and the menu buttons are not required. The slot layout of the S models is identical to the standard chassis types and serial console and USB connectors are available on the CPU module.

As IMS products, all three new LANTIME models can be equipped with all IMS modules. The modules can be swapped between all IMS chassis models.

The M4000 has been designed specifically for the requirements of todays telecommunication networks and has been successfully tested at the 2015 interoperability event of the European Advanced Networking Testcenter (EANTC). The capability to use all IMS modules allows to use the LANTIME M4000 in almost any application space and network environment, including the Power Grid, Finance/Enterprise datacenters or the Audio/Video/Broadcasting industry.
