The International IEEE Symposium on Precision Clock Synchronization (ISPCS) is one of the most important PTP/IEEE 1588 Events of the year and will take place from September 21 to September 26, 2014 in Austin, Texas, USA.

The ISPCS consist of two parts, the Plugfest and the Symposium Program. The Plugfest allows manufacturers of both PTP Hard- and Software, and Measurement devices to perform interoperability testing. Next to available designs, also prototypes will be tested to facilitate and guarantee the usability of PTP products from other suppliers to the end users.

The second part, an impressive Symposium program, which will be held during three informative days, is going to begin on September 24, 2014. The program covers a large variety of topics from presentations of scientific studies to reports covering the practical use of PTP and other Synchronization Technologies in real-world applications.

The participation in the Plugfest is very important for Meinberg to ensure a continuous compatibility of Meinberg products with other vendor's equipment. In addition to the Plugfest, a recently developed load balancing technology that allows the distribution of hundreds and thousands of PTP Slave Devices to one group of Unicast Grandmaster Clocks, will be presented in Session I: "PTP Protocols and Devices" on Wednesday morning by Meinberg's Heiko Gerstung.
