SMPTE 2016 is the world’s premier forum for the exploration of media and entertainment technology.

The event includes three days of technical sessions, a high-tech exhibition hall, special events including the annual Awards Ceremony and the SMPTE-HPA Student Film Festival, plus a pre-conference Symposium, bringing you unparalleled opportunities for professional development, relationship building, and “mind sharing.” Presenters and attendees include world-renowned technology thought-leaders.

In the "Centennial Hall" there will be an "Interop Demo" for PTP just next to the Meinberg booth. Meinberg takes part in this demo with its LANTIME M1000 PTP grandmasters to show Interoperability with PTP equipment from other vendors from the broadcasting industry.

The demo setup has already been shown at this years IBC exhibition in Amsterdam at the "IP Interoperability Zone".

As PTP is the selected technology for synchronizing studio equipment over IP, Meinberg is able to provide GPS synchronized grandmaster solutions that are already well-established in other industries for many years in productive and mission-critical environments. Customers rely on Meinberg equipment because of its future-proof approach, scalability and flexibility and the long-term experience of Meinberg with key technologies like PTP, GPS, NTP and many more.

Visitors will also be informed about how they can integrate the Meinberg master clocks into a hybrid SDI/IP scenario by serving PTP and tradional genlock signals like black burst or word clock generated from a common time base.

The SMPTE event starts today and will be open until Thursday afternoon.

More information can be found on the SMTPE Annual Technical Conference website.
