Meinberg and Net Insight Broaden Partnership with Integration of Meinberg Technology into Net Insight's Unique Timing-Over-WAN Synchronization Solution

Meinberg technology ensures full PTP standard compliance for Net Insight platforms for its Nimbra 300 series MSRs to provide exemplary clock performance with or without satellite synchronization.

Meinberg announces that its already fruitful partnership with Stockholm-based Net Insight, a global leader in media technology, is being expanded with the integration of Meinberg's world-leading synchronization technology into Net Insight's unique Precision TimeNet platform. With Meinberg's proven expertise in clock synchronization and holdover solutions, not to mention its wealth of experience in serving the telecom and broadcasting industries, Meinberg and Net Insight were natural partners in this venture.

Net Insight will be licensing the syn1588® PTP software stack from Vienna-based Oregano Systems, part of the Meinberg family of companies, to provide full PTP IEEE 1588v2 interoperability for its technologies such as the synchronization software component Time Transfer. Meinberg in turn has developed a powerful bespoke module for Net Insight's Nimbra 300 series of media switch routers, integrating Meinberg's tried-and-true microSync technology to provide dependable synchronization performance. Combined with Net Insight‘s proven Time Transfer technology for enabling accurate clock synchronization over wide-area networks, this new module enables a viable multi-profile PTP signal to be delivered to remote locations without being reliant on a common satellite signal.

This expansion of Meinberg's and Net Insight's existing strategic technology partnership to bring cutting-edge end-to-end time synchronization solutions to the market means that Meinberg products will also be greatly enhanced by Net Insight's innovative network synchronization technology. This will also benefit Meinberg's diverse customer base in the fintech, power, and transportation sectors, who depend on the company's high-end synchronization solutions. The partnership allows both companies to bundle their expertise in clock synchronization to overcome the challenges of accurate and precise timing over IP networks, especially in relation to the transport of PTP data over long distances. This is especially critical in the midst of the broadcasting industry's shift towards IP-based production models.
