ISPCS 2015 in Beijing, PR China - Meinberg is Platinum Promotional Partner

This year the International IEEE Symposium on Precision Clock Synchronization for Measurement, Control and Communication (ISPCS) will take place in Beijing, China. The most important event concerning the Precision Time Protocol (PTP) and the associated IEEE 1588 standard is again supported by Meinberg as a Platinum Promotional Partner.

The annual event has been hosted alternately in the United States and Europe and this year for the very first time will be hosted in Asia. With this, the Organizing Committee pays tribute to the emerging importance of Asian manufacturers and users in the area of synchronization.

The ISPCS consists of two important parts:
The first part is an interoperability event called the "Plugfest" which is open to manufacturers and developers of PTP products and implementations. It enables participating companies to test the compatibility of their solutions with other vendors' products. This is beneficial for both the end users and the manufacturers, as it significantly improves interoperability between different implementations. By giving end users the freedom to combine products from different manufacturers, it avoids vendor lock-in situations. The participation of Meinberg is a key element to increase compatibility and ensure that customers can select the products that fulfill the requirements in the best possible way, regardless of the model and make.

Meinberg employees have volunteered for years in the organizational committee of the Plugfest to help with running this event together with the participating organizations (typically between 30 and 40 companies).

The second part of the ISPCS consists of a symposium during which a number of very interesting papers are presented. The papers are reviewed by a technical program committee and cover a wide range of synchronization-related topics, from basic research work to descriptions of real-world projects and solutions. The committee successfully set up a very interesting program for this years' symposium and managed to convince two very interesting authors, Yaozhong Xin (Professional Senior Engineer State Grid Corporation of China) and Michael Johas Teener (Senior Technical Director, Broadcom), to hold the two keynote presentations this year.

The 2015 ISPCS will take place from October, 11th to October 16th in the Mercure Wanshang Hotel in Beijing, P.R. China. Detailed information can be found on the ISPCS website.

A number of Meinberg employees from Germany, the US and China will be attending the event. If you are interested in a meeting, please send us an email (info@meinberg.de) or contact your local Meinberg sales partner.
