How does NTP handle the daylight saving time switchovers?
NTP uses exclusively the UTC time scale, which does not distinguish between standard time and daylight saving time. Therefore, a distinction between standard time and daylight saving time is neither intended nor necessary in the NTP protocol.
The system time of servers and clients also runs internally in UTC. Only the time displayed to the user is converted to the local time of the user-selected time zone.
