What are the differences between low cost radio clocks and Meinberg products?

Meinberg has been developing and manufacturing time synchronisation equipment for more than 40 years. Our products have a very high quality standard and they are all "made in Germany", meaning that we assemble all of our time servers and receivers in our plant in Germany.

Our customers have direct access by telephone and email to the engineers who develop and maintain the products, there is no "first level"/"second level" support or whatsoever. If a problem occurs, you can be sure that you have the attention of the people who created your product and therefore know every single part of it. Our technical department adds up over one century of experience in the field of timing and frequency and we know that most of the people using a Meinberg system count on the reliability and accuracy of our products. In fact, a lot of organisations with important tasks are long-term customers, including public and governmental organisations / services like air traffic control, satellite operators, the police, the military, fire departments, universities and scientific institutions. Of course we also have a lot of customers ("Global Players) from the private business sectors, for example from the financial sector, the energy sector, the environmental services sector and many more.

Meinberg is not manufacturing equipment for the mass market, we offer specialised high quality equipment for customers who need accurate timing or frequency solutions. A major part of our business is project related, therefore our organisation is able to react and interact with our customers, finding the optimal solution for them. This often means that an individual solution has to be designed and our products and our team is prepared for this. In fact, a lot of our features were introduced into the standard because one of our customer needed it and we imagined that these features could be useful for other customers, too.
