IRIG Time Server
IRIG time servers are synchronized with time code signals, called the IRIG Codes. They are differentiated into IRIG-AM signals, which are modulated with a carrier frequency and allow big transmission paths, and the IRIG DCLS signals that transport the time code only as a TTL signal. The DCLS signal can achieve higher accuracy, but it only allows short cable lengths. More detailed information about the IRIG codes can be found on Meinberg's special IRIG page.
Meinberg Time Server with IRIG Time Code Receiver:
- M320/TCR IRIG time server in 1U housing with LC-Display and keypad
- M450/TCR Expandable IRIG railmount time server with display
- M900/TCR Modular IRIG time server in 3U BGT housing with LC-Display (space for many input/output modules)
- M1000/TCR Expandable modular IRIG time server platform - 1U housing, LC-Display
Advantages of IRIG time servers:
- Use of old-time synchronization structures with time code distribution
- High accuracy
Disadvantages of IRIG time servers:
- Dedicated line to the IRIG signal source is necessary
