Leap Second Talk at FOSDEM 2015 Conference


"Martin Burnicki will give a talk about Technical Aspects of Leap Second Propagation and Evaluation" at the Free and Open Source Software Developer's European Meeting 2015 (FOSDEM'15) on January 31st, 2015 in Brussels, Belgium.

Bad Pyrmont, January 29, 2015 - Meinberg one of the world's leading manufacturers of time and frequency synchronization equipment and sponsor of the Network Time Foundation, is sending Mr. Martin Burnicki, a Meinberg Software Developer, to the FOSDEM Event to talk about leap seconds and how to handle them correctly.

FOSDEM'15 is a two-day event organized by volunteers to promote the widespread use of open source software. It will take place from January 31st, 2015 to February 1st, 2015 in Brussels, Belgium. The upcoming edition features 527 speakers, 551 events and 46 tracks such as Languages, Performance, Time, Typesetting, Hardware and Security.

The aim of the Leap Second Talk is to make developers aware of the fact that leap seconds exist, to inform about potential pitfalls and what to keep in mind when dealing with leap seconds and time synchronization.
